Reef in Calcasieu Parish expands, creating more habitat for marine life

A man-made reef in Calcasieu Parish is a little larger on Friday.

The Brad Vincent Reef, named after a late conservationist who aimed to preserve marine habitats, expanded for the first time since it was built in 2012.

2,000 tons of crushed concrete was added to the Brad Vincent Reef. The 6 acre reef, now expanding to up to 10 acres.
